PIM Hunter™

Anritsu invented and developed a patented technology that pinpoints PIM faults called Distance-to-PIM™ (DTP). DTP shows the location for PIM problems within the antenna system, as well as distance to external PIM sources outside the antenna system. This was an incredible step forward in improving the quality of information received from the on-site PIM test. But one problem still remained for pinpointing external PIM beyond the antenna - DTP could tell you how far away from the antenna the PIM source was located, but not the angle. If the antenna had a 120 beamwidth, the PIM could be located anywhere along the 120 arc at the distance measured by DTP.

  • PIM Hunter is a specialized antenna to identify IM products from 600 to 2700 MHz
  • Pinpoint external PIM (outside the antenna system)
  • Operates with the Spectrum Master™ MS2720T or BTS Master™ MT8220T in burst detect sweep mode and bandpass filter
  • Operates with Spectrum Master™ MS2712E/MS2713E, Cell Master™ MT8212E/MT8213E, or Site Master™ S332E/S362E with custom settings and bandpass filter
  • PIM Master™ MW82119B is required to generate the primary test tones to create IM products for the PIM Hunter to locate
  • Product Name: PIM Hunter™ Test Probe (2000‑1884‑R)
  • Function: A specialized passive intermodulation (PIM) probe designed to precisely locate external PIM sources—those beyond the antenna system—at cellular sites
  • Frequency Range: Operates across 600 MHz to 2700 MHz
  • Connector Type: N-type female, enabling standard RF connector interfaces
  • Compatibility: Works with Anritsu handheld analyzers equipped with burst detect or custom modes, including:
