GSS6450 Multi-frequency Record & Playback System

Highly portable, high dynamic rangeRF record & playback system

With the Spirent GSS6450 RPS, it’s simple and quick to capture GNSS & other RF signals as they are received for subsequentuse in a laboratory test environment. The GSS6450 RPS captures, digitises and stores the RF signals from the real RF environment. These recordings are thenmade available for subsequent playback, faithfully reproducing propagation effects such as multipath, fading, obscuration andinterference to allow testing of GNSS chipsets, receivers and systems under realistic conditions. You save project, travel andengineering costs while improving product performance, quality and time to market. The flexibility of the GSS6450 to record multiple frequency bands concurrently means the RPS can be used to test multi-GNSSchipsets and devices in wireless, cellular, automotive, navigation, aerospace, and defence and survey applications. Theuser can select different dynamic ranges depending on their application and storage requirements. The GSS6450 RF RPS includes three RF I/O ports. RF1 has optimised filtering for the recording and playback of GNSS signals, while RF2 and RF3 offer wider bandwidth to cover Cellular and Wideband signals respectively. For interference and jamming testing in-built Spectrum Analysis software is available.

Features

Key capabilities and advantages

  • Captures and plays back GNSS signals, supporting multiple constellations (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou) for accurate location-based testing.
  • Records and plays back cellular signals for testing mobile devices' performance across various network conditions, including 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G.
  • RF3 Wideband signal recording and playback capabilities, enabling testing of advanced, high-frequency applications with a broad range of signal bandwidths.
  • High-quality signal recording functionality that captures a wide array of RF signals, including GNSS and cellular, for accurate test replication and analysis.
  • Enables the playback of recorded RF signals in real-time or at variable speeds, allowing for controlled, repeatable testing of devices under real-world signal conditions.
  • Integrates with CANbus systems for vehicle or industrial testing, allowing users to record and play back data from in-vehicle networks or other embedded systems.
