The joint demonstration achieved stable high-speed wireless communication across the 110–170 GHz D-band frequency range under realistic over-the-air (OTA) conditions. Using wideband modulated signals up to 8 GHz bandwidth, the system successfully delivered multi-gigabit data transmission performance, including 20 Gbps throughput at 1 meter distance and reliable operation up to 7 meters.
The demonstration combines Anritsu’s precision signal generation and analysis solutions with VTT’s lightweight electronically steerable transmitarray antenna technology. The system is capable of dynamically steering the communication beam without mechanical movement, helping maintain stable connectivity even when communication paths change or become obstructed.
This technology is expected to support future high-frequency wireless applications including: - 6G communication - Wireless backhaul - Industrial connectivity - Defense communication systems - Ultra-wideband wireless networks
The collaboration highlights how advanced antenna innovation and high-performance RF measurement solutions can work together to accelerate next-generation wireless communication development.
